Infamous Composers! May 28

We all know Mozart performed his share of both musical and non-musical highjinks (and that laugh in Amadeus!). But what about Carlo Gesualdo, whose eerily dissonant Renaissance madrigals only scratch the surface of his highly dysfunctional life? Or what about harpist/composers? (Aren’t all harpists angels?)

Come hear musical selections from Mozart, Gesualdo, 19th century harpist Robert Nicolas-Charles Bochsa, and other composers who have earned a place in music history equally for their notorious lives as for their wonderful music.

Emily Boyer, horn, and Colleen Potter Thorburn, harp

7:30 pm, May 28 at Christ Presbyterian Church – 135 Whitney Ave. in New Haven.
